Salim founded Bio Universal Med Sdn Bhd in 2019 with an inspiring goal to deliver high quality products and services to customers at a competitive price. He initially built the company by himself with a very complex responsibility from meeting regulatory demands to building relationships with manufacturers in Malaysia and overseas. In 2020 when Covid struck, Salim managed to navigate the company to elevated levels by taking advantage of the extraordinary rise in demand for medical supplies. The company delivered RM15mil worth of medical supplies to several agencies for the past 2 years.
Salim served as the Executive Director of Tabung Usahawan Dan Pelaburan Melayu Berhad focusing on the area of economics and commerce for Small Medium Enterprises (“SMEs”) in Malaysia. He works closely with the government representatives and organisations on promoting SMEs participation in the economy.
Prior to founding Bio Universal Sdn Bhd, he had an extensive career across Banking, Property Development and the F&B industries. His longest tenure was in the Banking industry where he served for 20 years across conventional and islamic banking in Malaysia.
Salim holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
Dr Diana Zain
Dr Diana joined Bio Universal Med Sdn Bhd in 2022 with the crucial role of advising the company and customers on medical and regulatory matters. Her appointment enhances our customers’ trust in our company to deliver high-quality medical supplies and medical devices.
Prior to joining Bio Universal Sdn Bhd, Dr Diana served the government working within the Ministry of Health (MOH) as a medical officer at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. During her stint at MOH, she was trained in a wide range of specialities such as Rehabilitation, O&G, Psychiatric, Orthopaedic, Medical and Paediatric departments. She graduated graduated from University of Cyberjaya with a Medical Degree and served her 2-years housemanship at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
